Genuine Purple Wampum Shell And Sterling Silver Leaf Necklace

This genuine purple wampum shell beaded necklace is made with raw wampum shell found on eastern coastal beaches and sterling silver. The chain and leaf bail are made of sterling silver and the chain is 18” long with a lobster claw clasp. The wampum shell is approximately 1" x 1". No two wampum pieces are exactly alike so the wampum in your necklace will not look exactly like the one in the photo.

Wampum is a traditional shell bead of the Eastern Woodlands tribes of Native Americans. It includes white shell beads hand fashioned from the North Atlantic channeled whelk shell and white and purple beads made from the quahog or Western North Atlantic hard-shelled clam.
